"Good game, good game!" as Brucie used to say

In just three days at school, my daughter has totally mastered the Lancaster accent!

She made me play this game for a full hour last night - over a bowl of noodle soup in the place above the oriental supermarket - where I had to say ANY sentence (Miss, do I have to cover my history book in sticky-back plastic? or I'm having an M&S microwave roast-dinner-in-a-box for my dinner tonight.) and she'd say it back to me in a Lancaster accent. She could do it perfectly every single time! Right down to speaking in a softer, quieter voice - cause she'd noticed they do that too here. She even picked me up on the use of the word 'dinner'. It's called your tea up here, mummy, your TEA!

Cheered me up no end.

She also said it would be much harder for a kid to move north to south than south to north. Why's that? I asked. There's no way people would talk to you so much.

Packing up to move into new (rented) house now. Photos tomorrow.

NEWSFLASH: The sun is (tentatively) shining!
